The biggest challenge was finding reference pictures of taino art and then trying to reinterpret and filling in the gaps. I hope to do more.<br />

The myth is about the creation of the ocean. It’s a story about a man named Yaya who kept his son’s remains in a giant gourd. One day he decided to open it because he longed to see his son, upon opening it water started coming out, and from the bones of his son fish began to come alive.]]>

	<title>Corruption of the Innocent</title>

I’ve been thinking a lot about “Pan’s Labyrinth” (Which by the way is an awesome movie)and the use of fairy tales in the movie. The fact that people in the past used fairy tales to help explain the world around them and how in the movie it helps in illustrate the journey and challenges a girl must make in order to grow up. My favorite part had to been the Pale Man, and what he represented. I think in real life we get to face many just like him that serve to take away pieces of our childhood until were no longer innocent and/or imaginative.]]>
